2003

Four coders from North Karelia, Finland decide to form an IT company.
The company is named Arcusys.

2004

Despite experiencing the common pitfalls that startups face, Arcusys secures first customers -- developing systems for manufacturers.

2005

Arcusys launches new products: Salesman (a CRM system) and QControl (an ERP system).

2007

Arcusys starts to execute projects with scalable Liferay technology.

2008

The Great Recession hits Finland.
Arcusys loses three of its main customers.

2009

Arcusys has 11 employees, and despite the challenges, the company is able to grow.

2010

Arcusys opens a new office in Helsinki, Finland.

Arcusys opens a new office in Petrozavodsk, Russia.

Valamis – Learning Experience Platform development begins.

2012

Fast growth – new employees join the Valamis team.
The company now consists of 22 employees.

Acquisition of Fudeco Oy – Arcusys now has a new office in Oulu, Finland.

2013

Arcusys recognized as one of the best places to work in Finland for the first time by the Great Place to Work Institute.

10th Anniversary

2014

Arcusys recognized for the first time by the Great Place to Work Institute as one of the best workplaces in Europe.

2015

Arcusys specializes in the digitalization of learning with its Valamis – Learning Experience Platform.

Arcusys opens a new office in Lappeenranta, Finland.

Arcusys opens a new office in Boston, USA.

NASA Epic Challenge program: epic cooperation with NASA begins.

2016

Arcusys and Valamis LXP are listed in Gartner’s Market Guide for Corporate Learning Suites.

Great Place to Work ranks Arcusys 4th in Finland & 7th in Europe for the best place to work (the highest ranking in the company’s history).

Acquisition of OlapCon Oy, a predictive analytics and data science company.

2017

Arcusys opens a new office in London, UK.

Arcusys opens a new office in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Arcusys wins the National Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Finland.

2018

Arcusys listed in Inc. 5000 Europe list as one of the fastest growing companies.

Arcusys now has 180 employees in eight offices globally.

The company changes their name from Arcusys to Valamis to support the global growth and focus on the digitalization of learning.

Valamis listed in Gartner’s Market Guide for Corporate Learning Suites and also shortlisted in Deloitte’s Learning Experience Platform Market Overview.

2019

Valamis opens an office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with the acquisition of long term business partner Componence.

Valamis listed in both the 2019 Fosway 9-Grid™ for Digital Learning and also for Learning Systems.
