Valamis to Open an Office in Wiesbaden, Germany

The expansion to Germany will promote reaching the Central European market and support Valamis’ long-term internationalization strategy. The company now has offices in four countries.

Joensuu, Finland May 31, 2017. Valamis, a forerunner in the digital transformation of learning, will open a subsidiary in Germany at the beginning of June. Establishing a new office is necessary to meet the demand from Central Europe. Wiesbaden is located in an excellent market area for Valamis because of the existing active cooperation with local partners. Having a local presence increases reliability for creating new customer relationships.

With the digital transformation, large organizations are facing a continuous need to re-educate their personnel and offer personalized training events suitable for different work tasks. The role of learning analytics will be emphasized in the future when organizations must know what kind of training is efficient and which learning contents should be modified.

“Establishing a new office feels natural now, especially when it is done based on the existing demand. Our number of employees has grown and, for instance, founding our own analytics team has created a competitive edge for us when compared to other learning environment suppliers. We want to offer accessible, local service with the background of strong, Finnish expertise in technology and education”, says Jussi Hurskainen, CEO of Valamis.

Recruitments for the Germany office will be made locally, and a local leader with experience from the international software business has been hired to run the office.

Valamis has been on the internationalization path for some time already; in summer 2015, the company opened an office in Boston, US. Valamis has also expanded recently by corporate acquisitions when it bought OlapCon Oy last autumn. OlapCon Oy is specialized in predictive analytics.
